Fall.... I miss you..

I know fall is coming shortly...
for some reason..
this year..
I can't wait for it..
I am longing for leaves, and wind, and costumes..

I was getting all nostalgic when target put out their school supplies
a few weeks ago...
I had to stop myself from buying pencils and notebooks..
since I really didn't need more..

It could be that this baby is coming in October..
maybe :)

Meanwhile,
I search the internet for costumes..
and little jackets..
and crave pumpkin pie!

Happy Halloween...

Happy Friday
Happy Halloween..
In honor of Holidays and Fall..
here are a few of my hearts desires..

(plus, I just have been window shopping
like a crazy person and I am pretending that
I might be buying all these things.. When my sis
and I were little we would watch the home shopping
network and we would each have a thousand
bucks and see what we would buy..
it was actually quite fun..
but I believe that it might have fueled
my adult window shopping habit!)

Today my shopping addiction is brought to you
by the letter R for ruche..
if only because I could not leave their site
for awhile..

I love this scarf..
and wish I had it like yesterday..
under the sun ruffle scarf

love these earrings..
bitten apple earrings

and these too..
memories of you flower hoop earrings

love these shoes..
but they are officially sold out..

Another Dollar Store Adventure..

I found this wonderful
pumpkin ice tray at the dollar store..
at somewhere I read that these ice trays
make perfect chocolate molds..
and that they do!
So for only a buck..
I had beautiful little pumpkins..

These were my practice run..
this week I plan on making
peanut butter and chocolate pumpkins..
delish!

Some Creepy Chocolate...

So one of my first Halloween projects
so far..
has been chocolate molds on pretzel sticks..
I had never done it before..
but for the first time it went pretty well.

Before we placed the pretzels into the mold
we dipped them in wilten's peanut butter melts..
which are just a tad sweeter than regular peanut butter
and dries much better..
so tasty..
the first person to mix peanut butter and chocolate
might just officially be my hero..

Witches fingers..

This rat was taken out of the mold
a bit too early..
thus the cracks in the back..
but it was a good learning experience for next time..
if I were a little fancier..
I would have given the white rat red eyes..

I just loved the skeleton..
super creepy..

And orange fingernails..
spooky..

Needless to say.. they were all delicious..
and quite cute i think..

Halloween Diy Dollar Store Style...

So I am a person of many holiday decorations..
they just happen to be mostly for Christmas..
This year I am expanding my Halloween decor..
but trying to remain in a decent budget..
so that means one thing...
trip to the Dollar Store..
This trip I found this fun hurricane glass
and some frightening skull heads..
I already had the glass beads and
mini silver ornaments..

so a nice little addition for only two bucks..
It turned out pretty cute..
but I thought that it needed a little something extra..
so I spiced it up a bit..

Just some black paper,
a martha stewart punch,
and some ribbon..
all which I already had..
so really still two bucks..
Ta-da!

Gone Batty

I am just beyond anxious for the holidays..
I am planning decorations
and gift bags..
making little tags..
and even already singing Christmas songs..
(only in my head, i promise)

But I must keep my head focused on just one
holiday at a time..
with that..
it will be a Halloween overload over here at my house.

I have already begun gathering little branches
on my morning walk to make a fun centerpiece.
And when I went walking with my husband later that day..
let's just say..
he was less than thrilled to watch
his wife stopping and picking up branches on the sidewalk.

Anyways,
Here are some cards I made in preparation..
 with thoughts of little
goblins dancing in my head.

If your heart so desires you can find them here.

Hope your are all find yourself with holiday cheer!

Halloween Garland..

Here's a little look at my first
Halloween project so far..
a little jack o'lantern garland.
It's a pretty easy project and can also be used to
make an ornament garland for Christmas!

First,
I just cut strips of paper
they all should be the same size
and the size will vary depending on how big
you want your pumpkins to be.

After that,
punch a hole in either side of the strips
I have a small hole punch which works
with the size of brads that I used.

And I forgot to take pictures of the next few steps..
but..
You just put about 8 strips together
and put a brad through the holes in the top
and the holes in the bottom.
When you start to fan out the strips
they will form a circle.
And then you can draw faces on them!

I strung them together on baker's twine..
I just wrapped the string around the brads.
Aren't they cute!

To fill in the blank space I punched out some
scalloped paper and folded it over
then glued it together.

And ta-da.
a Halloween Garland..
fit for any fireplace or shelf.
