30 Years...

So today my husband is turning the big
3-0!

I have been teasing him that he
is getting so old...
but in reality it's me a little frightened
of getting older...

The other day someone asked my age..
and I said aloud 26...
in my head all I could hear was..
'4 years till 30'...
and for some reason
it was a little daunting..

But today we are celebrating!!!

My plans are to make..
chocolate cupcakes
with peanut butter frosting..
yum...
I only plan to make the frosting homemade though..
baking the cake from a box..
because that is how I roll..
I expect it will be super yummy..

I am going to use
and hopefully they will turn out like these..
wish me luck!

hello..

Hello blog,
How have you been?
I have been busy..
birthday party.. kid turning one..
writing lesson plans.. driving hours and hours..
but here I am..
Excited to share pictures of my little circus party..

In my head..
I dream that I am Amy Atlas..
planning gorgeous parties.. with beautiful desert tables..
In reality.. it is 'slightly' more disorganized..
a 'bit' more tame and ordinary..
but.. it was still a lot of fun..
and it being the hottest day of the summer so far..
the snowcones were the best idea ever..
thanks me.
So if nothing else..
snowcones were a hit..
now what to do with two gallons worth of snowcone syrup
and the machine back at the rental store..
(the ants come marching two by two.. oh no oh no)

Don't you just love my 70's kitchen..
at least the circus decorations add some color

Fun silverware..

Candy bar..
still wrapped!

Birthday cake.. yummm..

The guest of honor..

We made a little photo booth..
just hung some fabric from our patio..
This is me and my sis..

Me and my best buddy..

and me and the babe..

Paper straws..
(beautiful, but.. they are paper.. that's all I'm saying)

Sweet Treats..
Just kept it simple..

Now.. time to relax!

Birthday party themes... again

So I think that we have officially settled on Monsters for the theme for my son's first birthday party..
But then I go looking at blogs this morning and I found this great circus party.. courtesy of Party Perfect's Blog..
I think the thing that tops it off is the costumes.. wow.. really
I need to start having more children so that I can dress them up..
I really have not been fulfilling my potential with this..

Amazing!
