Beachy Waves...

I have longed for those beachy waves..
mostly I am disappointed by the cheap
mixtures you can buy at the drugstore...
so I have been thinking of a splurge..
surf spray
but at $23 for 4oz..
I haven't got it yet..

Instead...
I thought I would try making my own first..
I found a few different recipes online..
what I ended up using was this one..

8 oz water
2 tablespoons sea salt
1 teaspoon gel
2-3 teaspoons of conditioner

I made it for just about $3..
plus I have tons of salt left..
I just used conditioner and gel I had around..
but a coconut conditioner would have smelt lovely..

It worked nicely I thought..
I twisted my hair while I dried it..
and used a curling iron to touch up some of the curls..
But it held nicely...
which I have trouble getting curls to stay usually..
and it feels nice and soft still..
great bonus..
Needless to say..
I will be saving $20!

Remember when....

it used to be magic running away from the ocean waves..
Well,
I'm happy to be reliving those days..

Hope that your weekends were lovely as well!

Nursery Decor...

So the first time around..
when we were doing our nursery...
we were filling it will just the necessities..
and not too much fun decor..
it was stressful enough to just figure out
what this new baby would need..

but now
we are on to baby two..
another boy,
so we have all the essentials and more..

this time I am getting into some decor..
I'm so excited..
we (I) decided on a beachy theme..
for their shared room..

Of course I went right to Etsy..
and discovered The Shabby Chic Cottage..
I ordered beadboard stars
and the ever magical starfish wands..
I love the stuff..
and she even let me custom order the beadboard stars
for a beachy color vibe...

I put corks into the vase instead of sand..
for now..
two little boys..
well, you know..

Can't wait to get the rest of the stuff together...
and share the details..
